2007 OFFICAL RECIPE CONTEST RULES

SunFest Recipe Contest in 12th Year!
Enderlin’s Sunflower Recipe Contest is celebrating its 11th Anniversary! If you haven’t ever entered the Sunflower Recipe Contest, this year is a must. Over $700 in prizes will be awarded including a $100 cash prize for the best recipe using SunButter®. Other prizes include bakeware, utensils, and much more! The contest is held on Friday, September 14th at the Enderlin City Auditorium.
Three categories make up the Sunflower Recipe Contest:
i. Main Dishes
ii. Breads and Sweets
iii. Salads and Side Dishes
Entries are assigned a number by Event Coordinator, Teddy Fink, as they are brought into the Auditorium. Names are then recorded separately and the entry is given anonymously to the judges with only the entry number and recipe name available for judging records. Judges are unaware of who has prepared the entry.
Entries are judged on a scale of 1-10 (1=poor; 10=excellent) on taste, appearance, texture, creativity and the best use of a sunflower product. The winner is determined by the total number of points received.
A sunflower product must be used in each entry. Products include:
i. Sunflower Oil (as an ingredient or in entry preparation, such as deep frying)
ii. Sunflower Margarine
iii. Sunflower Seed Meats
iv. SunButter®
v. Other legitimate products made with sunflowers NO OTHER NUTS OR NUT PRODUCTS ALLOWED.
A written recipe must be submitted with each individual entry, along with entrants name, address and telephone number.
NO PREVIOUS WINNING RECIPES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Entries will be accepted as early as 8:00 am on Friday, September 14; but no later than 9:30 at the Enderlin City Auditorium. Entries requiring heat must be submitted in a crock pot with cord; coolers are available at the Auditorium. Portion size for entry: Serving for 6 ONLY! No pan of bars or dozen cookies needed; or bowls of salad, etc. Judges sample only small portions of each entry.

The Sunflower Festival Committee reserves the right to print and/or use all recipes submitted to the contest for promotional or fundraising purposes.
